Angelica spent her early years in a
convent[3]. When she grew to be a young woman, Angelica had a relationship with
Jack Sparrow, and had the distinction of being the only woman he ever truly loved. Throughout their many ventures together, Angelica was corrupted by Jack, acquiring great skill in the art of deception from his teachings. For some unknown circumstances, their love didn't end well.
Many years later, Angelica became the
First Mate aboard the
Queen Anne's Revenge. As her father grew older, Angelica became interested in the
Fountain of Youth, which was said to be discovered by
Juan Ponce de León in 1523.
Blackbeard and Angelica began their search for the Fountain sometime after the
War Against Piracy. During one of Blackbeard's raids,
his crewmen captured a young
missionary,
Philip Swift, in the process. Before Blackbeard had a chance to kill Philip, Angelica stopped him, as she didn't want him to kill a man of God.
